Supernatural Episode Recap: "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie"

Unicorns, laser-eyed robots, killer sharks and cranky clowns all affect this latest installment of Supernatural. Sadly, Mike is about the company finish from the brutal beating with the things he fears most. Meanwhile, Dean finds something he loves: an enormous Slinky. Throughout the final seven seasons of Supernatural, we've many userful stuff here about Mike and Dean. We've learned their likes in addition to their dislikes. We've learned their preferred lingo and whatever they would rather eat and set on. But because this is a horror show, we've also learned what they're frightened of. For instance, everyone knows Dean hates to fly. Season 1's "Phantom Traveler" had him face that fear to amusing results. In Season 2's "Everybody Loves a Clown, we discovered something about Sammy: He's a great large concern with people circus freaks referred to as clowns. This latest episode had the youngest Winchester fighting that fear once more. By fighting, I'm speaking about getting his cute self beaten, battered and bruised. Poor Sammy. I don't mind saying I used to be fearing "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie" (also called "PPMM") for any couple of reasons. 1. Typing that extended ass title takes forever. So that it will simply occur once. 2. Much like Sammy, I dislike clowns. However, I did so survive "Everybody Loves a Clown" in older times, therefore i had high hopes. Clearly the episode didn't waste whenever coping with people circus monstrosities. Sam's running from all of these questions scene that's much like Dean's own running escapade that went reduced Season 4's "Yellow Fever." But Sammy has something real being frightened of while Dean only thought he did. His tormentor will be a cute little doggy. Not the second introduction of Pennywise, the frightening clown from Stephen King's book and subsequent small-series referred to as "It." A Few Things I loved about "PPMM": -I really like the actual fact the recap shown Sam's coulrophobia (concern with clowns) from Season 2. It seems this type of very long time ago, right? -The Supernatural title page was personalized to match the theme throughout your day. Unforeseen and extremely awesome. -That Plucky/Chuck E. Cheese-type place looked correctly annoying for nearly anyone to use. -The Jack Bauer/24-ant countdown clock with connected appear effect will be a nice touch. -Dean obtaining a cryptic conversation with Frank by having an actual pay phone: "I am the Egg Guy." Loved Sam's reaction to hearing it too. -Dean stated being in the hot chicks game for a while. An excellent move considering what went lower to him in the last episode along with his one-evening stand as well as the "daughter" who tried to kill him. That's enough to acquire anybody to position a halt on all hookups immediately. Even Dean Winchester. Question how extended his moratorium lasts? -We uncover the genesis for Sam's fear. It seems when Large Father Winchester was probably away, Dean familiar with ditch Mike at Plucky's so he might go get women. I don't blame Mike for developing this fear. What else was made to happen? -I like Mike saying the mantra Dean told him: "Whether or not this will bleed, you'll be able to kill it." -Loved all the various names for your bad dreams or nightmares that found existence: "Vamptopus" "Octopus" "Dractopus" "Land Shark" "Seabiscuit the Impaler" -Can it be me or did the vibe involving the brothers and sisters appear a bit more enjoyable? Mike was smiling more at Dean's jokes. More than ever before before before. The low quality ones. I loved that. -The dying by unicorn scene was great. Guy thought he was apparent in the danger. Your horn comes piercing using the man's chest. Awesome. Loved when the unicorn was running and rainbows had been launched of the ass. too -I really like that Mike could get some good punches in. People clowns deserved it. -Clearly Dean desires to buy a giant Slinky. Clearly he's doing. -Love Mike searching to obtain tough while using Plucky employees. Love Dean trying to assist that kid then the lack of ability to eat the Plucky pizza because it tastes like "butt." -I never expected a Breaking Bad reference relating to this show. How awesome is always that? -When the kid stated the robot had "laser eyes," all I really could consider was Ronald from Season 2's "Nightshifter" cheap he initially thought the frightening shape-shifter will be a Mandroid. -Kooky Plucky worker Howard was the main reason. He'd every one of these bad dreams or nightmares showed up at existence and off parents as they was clearly screwed up -- he blamed his parents for his brother's dying. Nevertheless the trigger appeared to become the fact he didn't have the manager's job. Can you imagine him as manager? In my opinion not. This episode would be a disagreement against art therapy for kids. -High high cliff was the Plucky worker inside the lion suit. I question once they named the level of smoothness following a show's bodyguard Clif Kosterman. -Following a 24 clock expires, here's how they inform us we're within our: getting a lesser third in large type that states: RIGHT FRIGGIN' NOW. Clearly the area CW funnel covered many of it tabs on bugs and such things as that. Boo. -Mike got glitter'd additionally to bruised up. But he faced his fear. Ideal for Mike. -Loved loved loved that last scene between Mike and Dean. Dean was full-on laughing. From the him doing by utilizing Castiel inside an episode. However I don't ever remember this kind of full laugh because he was with Mike. Maybe "Hell House" from Season 1? It absolutely was nice. It absolutely was also nice that Mike got Dean the big Slinky he wanted a great deal. Clearly, Dean takes things too far and can get Mike a stuffed clown. Not awesome, Dean. -I like anytime the boys can discuss a couple of of the encounters after they were maturing -- positive or negative. Which we've got a little of of the in this particular episode. Dean even stated how father familiar with haul him around because he will be a kid. "PPMM" will be a fun episode. We wanted something such as this. The Winchester brothers and sisters haven't had much if this involves fun in the very very long time. It's been plenty of depression and loss and grief this season. Which I've that Sammy probably doesn't think being pummelled by clowns is his kind of fun however when it resulted because final scene, I'm okay from it. As well as in the looks in the sneak search for the next Supernatural, all the fun is completed. And drama and Sam's hellucinations have came back. Plus, Dean seems like he's in quite the frightening predicament. Go on. However, I may need to watch "PPMM" a couple of more occasions. Random Ideas -Did Dean really say "no booze?" Could he stop such as this? I'm speaking about, I buy it. He'd been imbibing because he had the primary one-evening stand. But nevertheless. Let us wait watching how extended his "no consuming" act lasts. -Are usually Mike and Dean turning to be Danny Glover also called Roger Murtaugh within the Lethal Weapon franchise? In "The Slice Women" Dean states he's "too old with this particular. In . Now it's Sam's submit this episode. -Oh and apparently Fred Savage within the Question Years can be a Leviathan now. Love that. Some Favorite Lines (because of authors Andrew Dabb/Daniel Loflin) -"I am the Egg Guy. Seriously, Frank. Pay phones? I'm speaking about, seriously. I'm acquiring the clap off this factor just touching it." -"Just what am i trying to find? An octovamp? A vamptopus?" "That's crazy in love with us, right?" "It'll push the envelope." -"Cops have a very theory?" "Yeah, they feel the ball washer managed to get happen.Inch "The what?" "The...ball washer." "The what?" "The ball..." -"Close, but no Seabiscuit." -"This can be a shark bite." "Yeah." "And knowing with the radius, I'd say a 20-footer no less than. (Mike supplies a look) Shark Week, guy. How will you not watch that? Entire week of sharks." "You terrified of robots?" "They have laser eyes!" -"Yeah, we don't care that you just uh, you understand, broke bad or whatever." -"Just what you think? In . "In my opinion the bitchy mother plus uh, sad kid, plus uh place pad with something nuts written about it equals crazy corpse." show less
